Bioinicia wins Phase II of the SME Instrument funded by the European Commission.
The company has been selected as a highly innovative SME actively investing in innovation and looking to grow for our business innovation plan and the commercialisation strategy.
Bioinicia will build the world’s first industrial plant for electrospraying, aiming at the encapsulation and controlled release of bioactives.
The SME Instrument will provide business coaching and a contribution to allow Bioinicia developing their business plan.
The SME Instrument is part of the European Innovation Council (EIC) pilot that supports top class innovators, entrepreneurs and small companies with funding opportunities and acceleration services. The main focus of the SME Instrument is on market-creating innovations that shape new markets and generate jobs, growth and higher standards of living.
As part of the Horizon 2020 programme, the European Commission selects potentially disruptive businesses to invest in and support as part of the SME Instrument. SMEs with a strong growth potential and the ambition to become world-market leaders could receive up to €2.5 million in funding, and world-class business support and mentoring.
